Flagons
A flagon is a container that holds the Eucharistic wine. Flagons may be made of glass, brass, pewter or sterling silver. Other than glass flagons, the interior of a flagon should be lined in 24kt gold in order to prevent the acidity of the wine from pitting the base metal. Some Protestant churches may elect to use a flagon as a water pitcher.
