Roof Pitch
To determine the pitch of your roof, place a level against the roof as shown below. From the point where the level touches the roof, measure out 12 inches. From this point, measure the distance, in inches, down to the roof. This number will be the first number in the roof pitch. The second number will always be 12. For example, the roof pitch pictured here would be expressed as 5" on 12" or 5/12

NOTE We do not cut the pitch. You cut the pitch onsite using a simple cross stick template.
We require the pitch for proper placement of internal supports.
(2) MATERIAL (shingle, metal, etc.)
Add a SPIRE CROSS (and/or a DECORATIVE BALL) to the point of the spire.

You will also need to order additional grounding cable to run from the base to the grounding location. Electrical code requires that your electrician ground the unit. Lightening protection can provide protection in the event of a lightening strike but is no guarantee that your steeple or building will not be damaged or destroyed by lightening. To Order: Enter quantity of "1" in the Lightening Protection box and enter the qty of lineal feet you need in the "extra cable" box.

Wind Loading: Different areas of the country have different wind loading requirements. Coastal areas usually have requirements that steeples meet 155mph+ wind loading requirements. It is the churches responsibility to determine the local requirements. Our standard steeples meet 120mph wind loading so if you require 155+ please email us before ordering for a quote to make your steeple meet 155+ requirements (this usually involves engineering reports and additional bracking).
